Hear

The Flaming Lips The alterna-rock weirdos land in Las Vegas for Bud Light’s 50/50/1—that’s 50 bands playing 50 states in one day. Here’s betting we get the best visuals. August 1, 8:30 p.m., $40-$60, House of Blues.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros These folk-rock revivalists pack enough kumbaya into their bright, jangly tunes you’ll wanna pack your bags and join a co-op. August 1, 8 p.m., $30, Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool.

Hall & Oates Bone up on your best version of “Maneater” and unleash your inner rich girl—yep, the guys, too. August 2 & 3, 9 p.m., $40-$81, the Joint.

Go

Ultimate Dodgeball Championship Qualifier Dodgeball. On trampolines. For $20,000. One of 35 regional stepping-stones to the North American final (to be held in Las Vegas and taped for Fox Sports), this event is a guaranteed eyeful. August 3, 10 a.m., free for spectators, Sky Zone.

Dixie’s Tupperware Party Dixie Longate (read that name again—slowly) brings her Tupperware collection to the Smith Center this week, peddling plastic bowls and entertaining guests with the many alternative uses of her products. Arrive with an open mind, ready to laugh. August 1 & 2, 7 p.m.; August 3, 3 & 7 p.m.; August 4, 3 p.m.; $33-$39, Troesh Studio Theater.

See

Sharknado If you missed the social-media sensation during its numerous airings on Syfy, or if you just want to participate in a snarknado with fellow fans/hecklers, the ultimate B-movie (it’s about a tornado full of sharks!) gets a one-night-only theatrical release. August 2, midnight, $12.50, Regal Village Square & Colonnade.

Drink

Watermelon Cream August 3 is National Watermelon Day, and our favorite way to consume the refreshing fruit is to drink it. The talented bar people at Ogden’s Hops & Harvest mix fresh watermelon juice with Pyramid Weiss cream beer, Luxardo maraschino liqueur and Heering cherry liqueur for a refreshing, unique concoction perfect for summer. Tivoli Village.
