Alien Domicile Veteran local filmmaker Kelly Schwarze achieved wider success with 2015’s small-scale sci-fi thriller Territory 8, and his new feature is in the same vein. A few military personnel find themselves in the underground catacombs of Area 51, hunted by mysterious creatures, with no memory of how they ended up there. Available on Amazon.

Billy Topit: Master Magician What has former Strip headliner Lance Burton been up to during his retirement? Co-writing, directing and starring in this family-friendly feature about a birthday-party magician who takes on the mob, with appearances from fellow Vegas performers including Frankie Scinta and Louie Anderson. Available on Amazon.

Heidi

Heidi A rough cut of Daniel Ray’s found-footage horror movie about two teens who find a killer doll premiered at the 2014 Pollygrind film festival, and Ray has since refined his vision, with the final result (shorter, faster-paced, with improved sound effects) arriving just in time to capitalize on the popularity of Annabelle. Available on Amazon.

Vegas Baby Executive produced by Morgan Spurlock, Amanda Micheli’s documentary focuses on a Vegas fertility clinic that sponsors an online contest to win a free round of IVF treatments. The movie follows winners and other entrants from one year’s contest over the course of several treatments, as a way to explore the struggles and heartbreak of couples who deal with infertility. Available on Netflix.
