The Kids are most definitely all right. Fresh off the heels of a sold-out summer tour, multi-platinum ’80s boy band New Kids On The Block announced their first Strip residency at Dolby Live inside Park MGM.

The 16-date residency, aptly named The Right Stuff after NKOTB’s 1988 pop single, will kick off next summer on June 20 and run through November 15. Fan club presale tickets will go on sale September 24 at 10 a.m., with tickets for the general public launching September 27 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com/NKOTBVEGAS

“It’s an incredible theater and it’s a privilege to be able to play there,” said Donnie Wahlberg, who joined his band mates for the announcement next to the Park. “We want to have our fans and those who haven’t even discovered us yet to have the experience of their lives every single weekend that we’re here in Las Vegas. And it’s not just gonna happen there. It’s gonna happen all over the city.”

The group members surprised fans—affectionately referred to as “Blockheads”—with the news on the eve of the iHeartRadio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena, where they’ll perform the chart-busting pop anthems that paved the runway for other boy bands like Backstreet Boys and NSync to succeed. The Grammy-nominated group has sold more than 80 million records, recently reuniting for May’s Still Kids, its first album in 11 years.

“You know we’re excited if we have our phones out,” said Joey McIntyre, who eagerly snapped photos of NKOTB’s residency marquee while on stage with the group.

The others appeared just as elated by the announcement. Jonathan Knight, who reminisced about visiting Vegas as a youngster, attempted to speak on the behalf of the group but got teary-eyed halfway through.

“I’m actually thinking I should buy a house in Vegas,” Knight said. “I could renovate the house in the day, come do the show at night, and I would have the best of both worlds.”

Fans from around the country squeezed in by the Park’s Bliss Dance statue to catch the scene.

Wahlberg, who concluded the night by taking as many fan selfies as he possibly could, commended their following, pointing out one woman who’s “baby blockhead went to like, 26 shows.”

“Our fans are gonna turn the city upside down,” Wahlberg said. “They’re as loud as ever. They’re as fun as ever. They inspire us more than ever. You guys get ready to have some fun. You already know we’re going all out.”
