“Absinthe” has reopened at Caesars Palace’s Roman Plaza in a new, white tent I call the "AbsintheDome." What is happening inside AbsintheDome continues to amaze, and for those who loved the Skating Aratas -- one of the original production’s signature acts that has spun off to “V -- Ultimate Variety Show” -- you are in luck.

A pair of highly regarded and well-known (at least in the circus culture) skaters are due to step/roll into the show, tentatively, on Dec. 1. They are the brother-sister team of Vanessa and Emanuel Medini, to be known in “Absinthe” as the Green Tornado.

These are said to be two of the fastest skaters on the planet -- that planet being Earth -- clocked at 100 mph as they cling to each other on small stages in such circus productions as the German-based Circus Probst.

The actual routine made popular by the husband-wife tandem of Vittorio and Geniia Arata was property of “Absinthe” producers (the show is a partnership between Spiegelworld and BASE Entertainment), so the Green Tornado will perform that routine, or something close to it, while the Aratas perform something new at “V.”

Chiming in on this is one of the city’s great chimers, “Absinthe” onstage producer and owner The Gazillionaire, who says the Green Tornado is so valuable to the show that he’s had each of their legs insured for $1 million.

Where he comes up with that kind of cash is, as always, anyone’s guess.
