CNBC’s culinary entrepreneur-focused competition show Restaurant Startup returns for its second season on January 13, and a local chef’s restaurant will be profiled during the season. Nosh & Swig, the deliciously creative small plates emporium that closed in October after almost two years in business on East Flamingo Road, could be resurrected if chef Steve Piamchuntar finds himself in the good graces of the show’s celeb investors Joe Bastianich and Tim Love. For more information, visit the show’s website.

Central is done at Caesars Palace. The 24-hour café from chef Michel Richard—which filed for bankruptcy last summer—has been replaced by the generically named, almost certainly temporary Bistro 24 in Caesars’ lobby. Widespread rumors have the space falling into the hands of Giada De Laurentiis, who famously opened her first-ever restaurant at Caesars’ renovated Cromwell boutique resort across the street last year. No comment from Caesars officials.

Tickets, which must be purchased in advance by January 22, are $20 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. For information, call 702-869-5775.
