The snackwagon takeovers continue at Harvest by Roy Ellamar inside Bellagio. Guest chefs are taking charge of the restaurant’s signature snackwagons to feature their own specialty small bites and chat up diners, and this month will include Le Cirque executive chef Wilfried Bergerhausen on July 13 and Sage boss (and executive chef of the upcoming Libertine Social) Shawn McClain on July 22.

Planet Hollywood’s Strip House recently launched its tableside rare Scotch cart service, offering diners specialty single-malts including Balvenie 30-year, Macallan 25-year and the Adelphi Selection. The cart is equipped with hand-cut glasses and crystal ice cubes made from water boiled three times, but you won’t need those because you drink your Scotch neat like a respectable human.

Downtown Grand’s new Service Industry Professionals (SIP) program gives back to local hospitality workers by offering 20 percent discounts on all food and beverage at S+O, Furnace, Citrus and Sidebar at Triple George Grill. Patrons must be a Downtown Grand Rewards member to apply the discount.

To commemorate Bastille Day, Bardot Brasserie at Aria will feature a celebration and book signing with author and chef Christian Delouvrier and mixologist Matthew Biancaniello on July 14 starting at 6 p.m.

DB Brasserie at Venetian will offer its summer seasonal tasting menu for July from the 25th to the 31st highlighting stone fruit. The multi-course menu is available for $60 nightly after 5 p.m. and includes dishes such as crudo of fluke and plum carpaccio, Hudson Valley foie gras and Hood River cherries and Duroc pork blade with grilled peaches.

The Palms’ Ditch Fridays event at its pool club will play host to the sixth annual Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Eating Contest on July 29. Amateurs and professionals will compete along with Jason Acuña (Jackass’ “Wee Man”) and champion eater Takeru Kobayashi, the latter having set a new world record last year by eating more than 140 tacos in under 10 minutes. Of course, you can train by visiting the Palms’ location of Chronic Tacos any time.
