Chinglish Cantonese Wine Bar will host a fundraising event to benefit the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation’s Women of Metro tonight, August 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. The restaurant and patio will be converted to a summer strolling beer garden and beer and bourbon samples will be available. Tickets are $60 in advance or $75 at the door and available at chinglishwinebar.com/events.

Dolce & Chianti Cucina and Cocktails will host a wine event on August 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring four pairings from sommelier Matthew-Loren. Mercato della Pescheria at the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month with the Mercato Cinque cocktail ($10), made with Sicilian vodka and Italicus liqueur. The drink will be on the menu through September 12.

Golden Rainbow’s next Dining Out for Life event will be held August 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Salud Mexican Bistro on West Sahara. Proceeds from dine-in and takeout customers that night will benefit the local charity and live entertainment from Sal Santiago will also be part of the fun. Vegas Test Kitchen will offer three different dinners August 27-29 as part of the outdoor Lushington Supper Club, for which different chefs will cook for guests with live music on Lushington Street. Christina Nguyen of This Mama’s House will start the weekend with dishes such as chargrilled salmon salad, seared scallops with tamari and lemongrass and vegetarian canh chua. Eureka on Fremont Street will launch new menu items and cocktails on August 26, including the ahi tuna poke stack, eggplant and tahini spread, roasted beets and whipped feta, and a truffle mushroom cheeseburger. Happy hour offerings are also expanding with $5 beers, $7 wines and new craft cocktail and food item options.

Plant Power Fast Food is set to open its first location outside California in September at 7090 W. Craig Road. The healthy alternative burger spot serves food that's completely cholesterol free with no artificial flavors, colors, hydrogenated oils or high-fructose corn syrup. Popular menu items include the Big Zac with two patties, special sauce, American “cheese,” lettuce, onions and pickles; and the Buffalo 66, a crispy meat-free “chicken” patty dipped in Buffalo sauce with lettuce, tomatoes and ranch. The restaurant will open daily at 7 a.m. for breakfast and will be operated by Scale x3 Management, which also operates Broken Yolk Cafe at Town Square. Lettuce Entertain You’s modern Italian concept RPM Italian will take the place of the short-lived Slanted Door restaurant at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace with an estimated opening date in early 2022. It will mark the sixth restaurant from the RPM brand and the first in Las Vegas, and will be the company’s sixth restaurant in Las Vegas, joining Mon Ami Gabi, the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, Joe’s Seafood Prime Steak & Stone Crab, El Segundo Sol and Stripburger. Wolfgang Puck’s Spago has launched its weekend lakeside brunch at Bellagio, available Friday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Live music, bottomless mimosas and classic fountain views set the tone for signature Spago dishes including smoked salmon pizza and bigeye tuna tartare, plus new brunch items like a rolled French omelet with king crab and fine herbs, the bacon and egg pizza and brioche French toast with toasted almond streusel and mixed berry compote.

California-based sandwich franchise Togo’s is set to open its first new locations in Las Vegas in years, starting with a restaurant arriving in September at 6435 S. Rainbow Blvd. Local franchisee Makea Macaluso has plans for two more Togo’s stores in the coming years.

Clique Hospitality is set to open Eight Lounge, a state-of-the-art cigar and spirits lounge at Resorts World Las Vegas, this fall. Eight will carry more than 150 different cigars and other tobacco products exclusive to its walk-in humidor and offer modern cocktails built to pair with guest’s cigar choice. Temperature-controlled lockers will be available for members to store spirits and cigars. The concept was created by Giuseppe Bravo and David Chesnoff, founders of Bravo Tickets. The lounge will also feature a 2,300-square-foot outdoor patio.

Rise, “an elevated bar experience,” is set to open at Area15 this fall. It’s a seven-minute ride that will lift guests 131 feet into the air with a tethered balloon structure, from which they can enjoy panoramic views of Las Vegas and a beverage of their choice. Prices start at $12 for children and $18 for adults, with packages that include beverages beginning at $26.
