Milk delivery … yeah, someone’s still doing it

Remember when the Internet had just started and it seemed everything was going online, even grocery shopping? Well, oddly, it took a company that’s been around since 1880 to  find success with online grocery/home delivery.

Winder Farms is a Utah-based “farmers’ market on wheels.” Winder follows a three-step process: 1) Customers make a weekly grocery list at Winderfarmslasvegas.com; 2) The order is picked up at the farm; 3) The order is delivered, at $3.49 a pop.

Winder’s milk is the star attraction. Like most Windmer foods, it’s hormone- and antibiotic-free. It’s also fresher than what is found at a regular grocery story,  thanks to  a 24- to 36-hour farm-to-glass turnaround. By my taste test, the skim milk did seem richer and less watery than regular skim.
